1 Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what data Viscriptix ("the Software") collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data. Viscriptix is a desktop application — your media files and generated metadata remain on your device unless you choose to use third-party AI services.

2 Data We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect, store, or have access to your media files (videos or images)
  • We do not collect your generated metadata, titles, keywords, or descriptions
  • We do not collect your API credentials for third-party services
  • We do not collect usage analytics or telemetry
  • We do not use your files to train AI models

3 Data We Collect

The only data transmitted to A Software Company is during license activation and validation:

  • License key (provided to you at purchase)
  • Hardware fingerprint (a non-reversible identifier derived from your device, used to tie your license to your machine)
  • Activation status requests (periodic online validation to confirm license validity)

This data is used solely for license management and fraud prevention.

4 Third-Party AI Services

When you choose to use third-party AI services (OpenAI, Google Gemini, or others), the Software transmits data directly from your device to those providers:

  • Contact sheet images (series of images extracted from your video frames)
  • Text prompts used to generate metadata descriptions

A Software Company does not act as an intermediary, does not have access to this data in transit, and does not retain any copy of data sent to third-party providers.

5 Local Data Storage

The Software stores the following data locally on your device:

  • Application settings and preferences (Windows Registry)
  • Generated metadata databases (SQLite files in your working directories)
  • Cache files for image hashing and lookup optimization
  • Log files for troubleshooting (optional)

All local data remains on your device and is never transmitted to A Software Company. All local data can be removed by uninstalling the Software and deleting associated directories.

6 Payment Data

Purchases are processed by our merchant of record. A Software Company does not directly handle, process, or store your payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.). Please refer to the merchant's privacy policy for details on payment data handling.

7 Data Sharing

A Software Company does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except:

  • As required by law or valid legal process
  • To enforce our Terms of Service
  • To protect the rights, safety, or property of A Software Company or others

8 Data Retention

  • License activation data is retained for the duration of your license
  • We do not retain any of your media files, generated content, or API credentials at any time

9 Your Rights

You may request:

  • Information about what data we hold about you
  • Deletion of your license activation data (this will deactivate your license)
  • Correction of inaccurate data

10 Changes to This Policy

A Software Company may update this Privacy Policy at any time. The current version is always available at this page. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance.
